(Debt) assistance
Several causes can put you in a difficult financial situation: illness, price increases, job loss, unforeseen expenses, personal problems ...
Keep your head up! After all, in such cases it is even more important to contact us immediately in order to find a solution together. Only in this way can we help you avoid an accumulation of additional debts and costs, and find a structural solution together with you.
At least the following solutions are worth considering:
Payment deferral or a payment plan
If you cannot pay immediately or not in one go, you can contact us for a payment deferral or a payment plan. It is wise to outline your financial situation in an honest and transparent manner. We can then communicate this to our client with the request to take your specific situation into account. After all, it is our client who ultimately decides whether we can agree to your request.
We will let you know as soon as possible whether we can agree, and under what conditions.
Request for direct transfer
With a direct transfer request, you request, on a completely voluntary basis, any body that owes you a sum of money (such as your employer, the OCMW, your health insurance fund, your bank, etc.) to withhold an agreed monthly amount from this sum of money. At the same time, you request that this deducted amount be transferred directly to our office for payment of your file.
After signing the request, we will transfer it free of charge to the relevant authority with the request to take the necessary action. In addition, you avoid the costs of a third-party garnishment, such as a wage garnishment or a garnishment of your bank accounts. In this way you are relieved of administrative burden and additional collection costs are kept to an absolute minimum. This is a win-win situation because your creditor is in turn assured of punctual and monthly payments in the file.
Please contact us directly so that we can help you prepare your direct transfer request.
Amicable debt centralization
If you have several debts and lose the overview, you can contact us to organize an amicable debt centralization for you. We do this free of charge, and by analogy with the work of various social institutions of (debt) assistance and legal services (such as the OCMW, the CAW, the JAC, the House of the Lawyer ...).
First of all, we map out the full debt burden together with you. This takes into account all debts, (fixed) costs and income. Afterwards, an attempt is made to agree a feasible repayment arrangement with all known creditors.
Once this has been done successfully, you will only need to transfer one agreed amount to us each month. We then divide this amount between all known creditors who have subscribed.
This relieves you of administration and limits any additional collection costs in your files to an absolute minimum. Your creditors, in turn, can count on punctual and monthly payments.
Institutions of (debt) assistance
In a difficult financial situation you can always turn to various social institutions for (debt) assistance and legal services. This concerns, for example, the OCMW of your municipality, the CAW, SAM, the Bureaus for Legal Assistance ...
Several of these organizations can also help you with other questions (whether or not legal) that are unrelated to your financial situation .
You can contact these institutions yourself via the links below, or contact us for guidance:

Insolvency Proceedings
It is unfortunately possible that you no longer manage to pay off your debts in a structural manner, and that your financial situation seems to have become hopeless. In that case, it is important that you do not give up, no matter how difficult this may be.
After all, you still have the option of escaping this situation by opting for one of the insolvency procedures provided for by law. These procedures not only offer financial breathing space, but also a real chance to start over with a clean slate.
For natural persons, the collective debt settlement procedure could be considered. To this end, a request must be made to the competent labor court. To be guided in this, it is best to call on a social institution that provides (debt) assistance (such as the OCMW of your municipality) or directly to a specialized lawyer.
For companies and sole proprietorships, the procedure of judicial reorganization and bankruptcy can be considered. To this end, a request must be made to the competent corporate court. To be guided in this, it is best to call on a specialized lawyer.
However, do not hesitate to contact us to guide you towards a suitable solution or procedure.
